Each year for the past 25 years, the Arts Council of Pendleton has invited artists from the region to exhibit their artwork for the community to enjoy. The exhibit has had different names and venues over the years, but the spirit of the event has remained the same - to celebrate the act of artistic creation.
We invite you to enter the Open Aperture Photography Exhibition. The event is open to both amateur and professional photographers and this year we’ve added a teen category for 13-17 year-olds.
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all amateur & professional artists age 13 and older living in Eastern Oregon and Southeastern Washington. Work must have been completed in the last five years.
SPECIFICATIONS: Artists may enter up to two photographs, either traditionally or digitally created and printed. Photos should be appropriately presented, mounted or framed, ready to hang with screw eyes and wire attached (no saw-tooth hangers please). Works are limited in size to 16 square feet. Please print one set of labels for EACH photograph.
Multiple photographs or collaged works in one frame will be considered one entry.
DELIVERY: Artwork should be hand-delivered to the Pendleton Center for the Arts on Saturday, April 26, 20087 between 9 am and 4 pm. Arrangements for other times may be made by contacting the Center at 541-278-9201. No shipped or mailed artworks will be accepted.
PICK UP: All artwork must be picked up Saturday, May 31 or by special arrangement with the staff. No works may be shipped or stored and work unclaimed after 30 days will be considered property of the Pendleton Center for the Arts.
LIABILITY: Every reasonable precaution will be taken in handling entries. However, neither the sponsors nor the Arts Council of Pendleton /Pendleton Center for the Arts will assume responsibility for any loss or damage to artwork or frames.
