Creative Writing

Are you a budding novelist? A scholarship applicant? Or someone who just loves words? With twenty years of experience, a writer of plays, film reviews, and short stories, John Remington will help you take your writing skills to the next level.

Drawing Workshop

July 28th

Ages 13 and up

2 pm - 4 pm

Learn how to sketch the viewpoint you’ve always wanted to with long time instructor Dave Remington. This workshop will show you how to get started and improve your drawing skills like never before.

Cost for this class: Free for Teens, $10 for non members,

$5 for members

Kids Tap Dancing

Your young one will learn the basics of tap dance while building confidence, body awareness, spatial awareness, and coordination as he or she learns to cooperate with a group. Kids please bring tap shoes. If students do not have tap shoes, please call the art center to make special arrangements.

Going fishing? This art form is used in Japan to record the grand size of dinner, and maybe you would like to do the same?  This art form will be taught by Nancy Duff using a less fishy form of printing.

Learn the fundamentals of guitar with Jared Pennington. We will cover basic theory, be able to play single notes, and basic chords.

Instructor Shari Dallas will show you how to enhance your pastel drawing skills that will give you the confidence you need to create your work of art!

OUTREACH

Classes are already in full swing around the region. Thank you Athena Library for hosting our first Outreach Program Class. Vanessa Enos’ Photo Collage class led students through the tips and techniques of combining original and reclaimed photographs and transforming them into complex and well-designed artworks.

We’re taking the classes and exhibits on the road! With the support of the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, we are expanding our successful in-house programs and offering them to organizations and diverse communities in and around Pendleton.

 

All outreach classes are FREE for teens 13-18 as an extension of our Art Rocks Teens program

 

Arts Council members can attend any class for just $5. Not a member? Join the Arts Council for just $25 and you can attend your first course FREE. AND, you’ll start receiving all the great member benefits.
